HOW DO YOU SEE YOURSELF?
Self-image is the sum of the things we see in and about ourselves, the way we think others see us, and the way we see ourselves in our best version.
It’s the way you see yourself and think that the world and God(or whatever deity you believe in) see you. And it’s not just about how you look, it’s about all your real and imagined qualities and flaws.
What is interesting is that the self-image is uniquely fluid, it depends on previous experiences, interactions with others, and is subconscious. You don’t know what your self-image is if you don’t look closely. Things like I can’t do this, I’m not that kind of person, it’s descriptions of our self-image.
If you give yourself a little time and attention, your self-image may be overcome. That annoying voice in your head keeps the old version frozen, because you know it and because the mind is always looking for the comfort of known things.
Very often, our self-image is very far from the objective reality and is what keeps us in place, it does not allow us to grow, to know ourselves, to make major changes.
